"Marry your best friend. I do not say that lightly. Really, truly find the strongest, happiest friendship in the person you fall in love with. Someone who speaks highly of you. Someone you can laugh with. The kind of laughs that make your belly ache, and your nose snort. The embarrassing, earnest, healing kind of laughs. Wit is important. Life is too short not to love someone who lets you be a fool with them. Make sure they are someone who lets you cry, too. Despair will come. Find someone that you want to be there with you through those times. Most importantly, marry the one that makes passion, love, and madness combine and course through you. A love that will never dilute - even when the waters get deep, and dark."
i feel like after 2 years we are finally getting the hang of this marriage thing. our first year seemed so easy i figured our 2nd year would get harder, but i think it got easier! we have grown so much and i cant wait to grow closer together in the years to come!
we had an amazing time celebrating 2 years of marriage this last weekend.
mostly consisting of lots of relaxing, and of course lots of shopping & eating.
just what the doctor ordered if you ask me.
sorry about all the blurry phone pics.
it was my year to plan the anniversary so matt had no idea what we were going to be doing which made it kind of fun. on friday night we stayed at the anniversary inn. matt was so surprised, and we had so much fun!! i highly recommend going if you haven't been there. it's a little pricey, but the room was SO awesome!! and they have sparkling cider and cheesecake waiting for you in your room, and then bring you breakfast in the morning! we loved it, and hopefully we will make it back there in the future!
on saturday we made our way up to park city. did a little shopping at the outlets, hit a movie then checked in to our hotel. the newpark has turned into one of our favorite hotels! the rooms are super big & nice, and my favorite part, it has a hot tub on the balcony! i LOVE hot tubs!
we also had dinner at ruth's chris. we have never been there but heard wonders. needless to say i dont think matt will be able to look at another steak the same. he literally could not stop talking about it! haha
on sunday we went & did the alpine slide. it was a GORGEOUS day in park city. i seriously couldn't get over it! we spent a good portion of our day driving around taking in the view! doesn't get much better than park city in the fall time!! sunday night we stayed at the zermatt in midway. i had never been there, but i got one of those deals on ksl. so figured, why not? it was like all dutch themed which was interesting haha. in my opinion the hotel was just ok. the next morning we went and swam at the crater, which is so awesome. the water is sooo warm, i still don't get how its that warm.
a little story about the alpine slide. i must have been taking my ride really seriously, cuz i literally fell off and scraped up my shoulder, elbow, and knee. ripped my favorite pants, and brand new shirt. haha i get pretty crazy i guess.
so fun autumn! i wanna hang out with you guys! miss you. Congratulations. ps. Matt's beard: top notch. High five to that guy.
ReplyDeletehappy anniversary! you are such a good little planner & i am in love with that entrance quote. i'm glad you thought the first year of marriage was easy, because there was times i thought i wasn't going to make it. hang out with me!
