Henry || Two Months

2 Month Stats
11.1 LBS
23 IN.

Henry has seriously been the best little baby most of the time! He is consistently sleeping well at night, only waking up once, and even sleeping through a couple of times. (This is seriously huge since Sloane was like the worst sleeper of all time haha!) But he is having a harder time sleeping in the day time. Some days he will take really great naps, and other days it feels like he is only taking 30 minute cat naps all day which is really hard because i don't feel like i can get anything done or really focus any of my time on Sloane. And its just plain exhausting! Im trying to figure out a good day time schedule, but its proving to be a little difficult when his sleeping is so sporadic still. But i keep telling myself we will figure it out eventually.
-Henry loves to be swaddled. When he is being a little fussy i'll swaddle him and he will usually calm right down.
-LOVES his swing, and will literally sleep for hours in it. That thing has been a saving grace.
-Is still taking a binky well, but has a hard time keeping it in sometimes, especially in the car which is fun haha. he usually likes it best when he is falling asleep.
-has started to smile so much! it is so cute! he loves laying on his changing pad and will smile and coo so much. he also loves when i make farting noises or pretend that I'm sneezing. I was telling matt that its funny how if you can get a baby to smile at you, you literally feel like the coolest person in the world! haha!
-im not great at making him do tummy time, and even when i do he usually rolls over as soon as i put him on his tummy. But he is holding his head and chest up great.
-has started to suck on his hands and he loves it
-gave me his first little giggle on his 2 month birthday

Henry’s Newborns

A week after Henry was born I took him to get some newborn pictures. He literally slept the entire time and we got soooo many cute shots! I couldn’t wait to get them back. Fast forward to this past week, I got an email from the photographer saying her hard drive had gotten knocked off the table and none of the pictures were showing up. I was honestly devastated!! Like I seriously cried off and on about it all day. I was so sad because he will never be that small, sleepy newborn ever again and now I wouldn’t have any of those pictures to remeber it. She offered to take some more, but by this point he was already 5 weeks old, has crazy baby acne and I knew he wouldn’t be very sleepy for them. Well I went the next day to get some more and even though he was awake for a lot of them I’m so happy with how they turned out!! I mean look how cute he is! And luckily she was able to photoshop out all the acne haha! I’m still holding out hope she will be able to recover the original ones, but I’m happy I’ll have these ones to remeber this newborn phase.

Henry || One Month

This last month has gone by so fast, yet it seems like we have had him here for forever! All around Henry has been such a sweet easy baby. But compared to Sloane as a newborn i feel like anything would feel easy haha. The transition from 1 to 2 kids has been much easier than the transition from 0 to 1. We have for sure had our fair share of struggles. Mostly trying to keep Sloane entertained and trying to do things 1 handed haha! Henry is doing great and at 1 month old he weighs just over 9 lbs. He is a great little eater and a pretty good little sleeper. He still is sleeping a lot durning the day and is giving us 3 to 4 hour stretches at night. He wakes up just to eat then goes right back to sleep which is super doable!
We recently learned that he has something called Ptosis in his right eye. I noticed since he was born that he just wouldn't really open that eye as much so i took him to the doc and thats what he said it was. Basically his right eye lid doesn't have very strong muscle or no muscle at all to lift his lid all the way. As long as his lid isn't covering his pupil, which his isn't it should affect his vision. The doctor said that he could grow out of it or when he gets a little older he can get a surgery that will lift the eye lid. I will probably take him to a pediatric eye doctor just to see what they say about it but I actually think its pretty cute right now and thats just what makes him, him!
Even though newborns are exhausting i know that this stage will go by so fast so I'm trying to enjoy it as much as possible! We love having this sweet angel baby in our family!
